The 52" Toshiba 52LX177 is the next-to-largest model in Toshiba's high-performance Cinema Series line of elegant flat-panel HDTVs. It's an excellent choice for videophiles who require a large screen with superb image quality. This TV is packed with cutting-edge display technologies that work together to deliver a beautifully balanced picture at all times and with all sources.
If you look at all of the high-definition programs available from broadcast, cable, and satellite TV sources, you'll find that most of them use 1080i format â 1920 x 1080 pixels. The 52LX177's screen is a pixel-perfect match so you won't miss any details. By comparison, "720p" HDTVs must downconvert 1080i signals, throwing away around 50% of the picture information. The downconverted image still looks crisp and clear, but there's definitely less fine detail.
High resolution is critical for superb picture clarity, and so is accurate motion handling. LCD TVs have improved their motion handling in recent years by speeding up the "pixel response time." Along with fast response time, Toshiba attacks the problem of blurring with their ClearFrame 120Hz display technology. This system allows the 52LX177 to display 120 frames of video per second, instead of the standard 60 frames. Moving objects on screen look smoother, clearer and more natural â especially fast-action sports.
The generous array of audio/video connections includes two HD-capable component video jacks, plus three HDMI digital inputs for use with the growing number of HDMI-equipped components (like HD satellite receivers and upconverting DVD players). These days, a growing number of HDTVs can display 1080p video, but not all of them accept 1080p signals. That's an important distinction, especially if you're considering adding a high-definition disc player.

The benefit of this service is that your merchandise is brought into your home, put into the room of your choice (within one floor up or down from the entrance), uncrated, plugged-in to ensure working order, and the packaging material is removed from your home. Should your residence be located in an extremely remote location, there may be an additional charge for delivery. Also note, White Glove delivery can require a couple extra business days vs. Front Door or Local Area Pick Up.
